Terms of Service and Software Licence

For existing customers, previously applicable terms remain in effect until any required notice and acceptance of these revised terms are completed. Publishing this page does not by itself change your existing agreement. See the May 24, 2026 terms.

These terms govern use of Starr Creek Inc. websites, applications and software, including internal business tools, that identify these terms as applicable. “Starr Creek,” “we” and “us” mean Starr Creek Inc. Read the shared terms together with the section for the product you use and our Privacy Policy.

Agreement, scope and licence

By accepting these terms when presented or using a service that makes them applicable, you agree to them. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Subject to these terms and the access rights for the particular product, Starr Creek grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the service and use software we make available for its intended purpose. Internal business tools may be used only by authorized personnel for their permitted business purposes. Product subscription terms apply only to the product identified. This does not grant ownership of our software or permission to resell, sublicense or distribute it. Third-party components may have their own licences, which remain applicable.

Product-specific terms apply only to the named product and take priority over the shared terms on the subject they specifically address. A separate signed agreement takes priority where it expressly says so. Nothing in these terms removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

New products may adopt these shared terms with additional product terms. We will identify the applicable documents when offering access. These terms do not automatically enroll you in a new product, create a subscription or authorize new charges.

Your account and access

You must be at least 18 to create an account and must provide accurate account information. Protect your credentials and contact us if you believe access has been compromised. Do not share credentials, use another person's account or create accounts by automated means. Use a product's authorized sharing features instead.

Where shared Starr Creek sign-in is offered, each product still controls its own permissions and access. Access to one product does not automatically include another.

Acceptable use

  • Use the service lawfully and within your authorized access.
  • Do not attempt to bypass access controls, obtain unauthorized data or interfere with the service.
  • Do not introduce malicious code or use the service to harm others.
  • Do not scrape, copy or redistribute service content without permission or an applicable legal right.
  • Supply and share information only when you have the necessary rights, authority and consent.

Your content and responsibilities

You retain the rights you have in information and content you supply. Starr Creek does not claim ownership of it. You give us permission to store, process and transmit it as needed to provide the features you request, subject to the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your entries and your decisions about sharing them. When information concerns another person, including a child or dependent, you must have the necessary authority to provide it. Product outputs depend on the inputs, assumptions and available information; review them before relying on them.

Connected and third-party services

Optional connections require appropriate authorization for the external account. Third-party services, including payment providers, have their own terms and privacy policies. Their availability and changes may affect an integration. Disconnecting a service does not automatically reverse transactions or delete records already held by that service.

Product-specific terms

Starr Creek Life

Starr Creek Life helps adults organize household and family records, appointments and reminders. It is an organization tool and is not a substitute for professional medical, legal or financial advice. Reminders are not an emergency or clinical monitoring service.

Subscriptions and billing: access to Starr Creek Life requires a paid subscription. Fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis under the plan presented when you subscribe. We may change pricing with reasonable notice. If payment fails, access may be suspended until payment is resolved.

Cancellation: cancel through the available account settings or by contacting support@starrcreek.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access continues until then and renewal charges stop. Cancelling renewal is separate from requesting account deletion.

Refunds and disputes: fees are non-refundable and unused periods are not prorated, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Contact us within 30 days about a suspected billing error so we can investigate promptly; this request does not limit statutory rights or payment-provider dispute rights.

Starr Creek Retirement

Starr Creek Retirement is a consumer planning and projection tool for Canadian retirement finances. It helps you explore how inputs and assumptions affect income, withdrawals, estimated taxes, government benefits, spending and estate outcomes. Calculations and suggested strategies are estimates for planning; they are not guarantees, tax filings or personalized investment, tax or legal advice.

Your decisions: review the information you enter, the assumptions and the results. Actual outcomes may differ because of investment performance, inflation, legislation, benefit eligibility, longevity and personal circumstances. Consult an appropriately qualified professional before acting on consequential financial or tax decisions. Using the tool does not authorize Starr Creek to trade investments, access bank accounts or move funds for you.

Household use: a consumer plan is for the subscribed individual or couple. Use invitations and assigned roles for authorized household access. Do not use a consumer subscription to prepare plans commercially or for unrelated third parties, or substitute unrelated people into scenarios to bypass household limits. Access remains subject to the features and permissions of the applicable plan.

Subscriptions and access: any trial, paid plan or promotional offer will identify its duration, included features, price where applicable, renewal and cancellation terms before you accept it. A Starr Creek Life subscription does not automatically include Starr Creek Retirement. When all active Starr Creek Retirement access ends, planning-workspace and report access ends; the data-recovery period described in the Privacy Policy is not an extension of planning access. Privacy requests remain separate from subscription entitlement.

Availability: these terms apply when Starr Creek Retirement access is provided. Describing a product or feature in these policies does not announce its public launch or promise that every planned feature is available.

Other products and previews

A future product will identify the shared and product-specific terms that apply before access is offered. Features in development are not commitments to release them. Access to an internal tool or a test environment does not grant permission to use a production system.

Changes, suspension and termination

We may modify, suspend or discontinue a service or restrict access for violations of these terms. Any applicable notice, refund or other statutory rights remain in effect. You may stop using a product and request account closure; paid subscriptions must also be cancelled as described above to stop renewal.

When access ends, the right to use that product ceases. We handle remaining personal information under the Privacy Policy and any applicable product retention provisions. Financial or other records may need to be retained where required by law.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Starr Creek Inc. shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing here excludes liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Starr Creek Inc. is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, subject to mandatory protections that apply to you.

Updates and contact

We will identify revised terms by effective date and retain prior versions. We will give appropriate notice of material changes and obtain acceptance where required before applying them. Privacy consent is addressed separately in the Privacy Policy.
